PREVIEW OF TIME MACHINE

 （a ）According introduction of Time Machine. I know that the Time Machine is a science fiction by H. G. Wells, first published in 1895. The novel soon became popular because of the appealing plot and the future world he described in the story. It's about a man who invents a time machine and uses it to travel to the year 802,701. （b） I am interested to continue read this book.

2.     During reading: after you have read about half of the book, write an entry describing the book so far.

a.     Who are the characters? What are they doing?

b.     What’s happening in the story and do you like it so far?

c.      Has your idea since previewing the book changed?

（a）It describes a time traveler to travel by inventing a time machine to the year AD 802701. There are two kinds of people. One kind of people called Eloi.  （b）They are well-dressed, doing no work, and pursue an easy life. And the other kind of strange white ape-like creatures called Morlocks. This group of creatures lives underground. They are very cruel. When they come out of the underground in the night, they begin to kill and eat Eloi as their food. The time traveler helps Eloi and fights against Morlocks.  Morlocks hide his time machine into a statue, but He finally gets it, and use the machine into the future. But he makes some mistakes, and travels thirty million years into the future. He finds the life is almost extinct at that time. （c） I really like one of the chapter that the Eloi live in small communities, doing no work and eating strange fruits. The natural landscape around tells that there is no active agriculture and industry. It seems that the Eloi are incapable of doing physical labor. it is so amazing, totally different life with today.

SUMMARY OF TIME MACHINE

（a）In the fiction "time machine" Wells(1895) It describes a time traveler to travel by inventing a time machine to the year AD 802701. I like this fiction because the author give our portray a new world which totally different with today. what I like about this novel is not just the world that Wells creates, but the great differences between modern human and the future human. The author attempted to fathom what will become being in the future.  However, the human never know the future what's going on.（b） I will stronger recommend to my friend to read this book.

My Idea of Coping with the Stress in Modern Life

It is true that people in modern times experience great stress in their lives. However, as to the ways to cope with the stress, different people have different opinions. Some insist on traveling, while others argue for listening to the music or even playing computer games. In my opinion, an effective solution to relieve pressure is to do physical exercise.

My suggestion lies in the following reasons. First of all, exercise not only helps to release people’s emotional breakdowns but also improves their mental state. By concentrating on their body movement, men forget about their annoyances and escape from the busy day. What’s more, physical exercise moulds people’s character and promotes a more optimistic attitude towards life. Besides, physical exercise conduces to sound health, with which people can face up to the stress and difficulties in life more readily and easily.

In a word, physical exercise plays a positive role in killing stress. I believe that my own experience is also applicable to others. Therefore, I suggest that people should go jogging or do other forms of sport when they feel pressed.

There is a saying that never too old to learn and, similarly, I want to say that never too old to do exercises. Doing exercises is really necessary for everyone and we’d better take some time to do exercises every day.

General speaking, doing exercises appropriately every day is definitely good for our health. For one thing, doing exercises properly is a good way to building our body and accelerate our blood circulation. For example, to do sit-up every day can practice our waist. For another, doing exercises is also a good method to keep our mind healthy because doing exercises can broaden our mind and release our stress to a large extent. For example, we would feel better if we do some exercises after working for a long time.  In addition, doing exercises can make our mind be more active. That is why so many people choose to do exercises when they cannot come up with new ideas.

All in all, doing exercises is absolute necessary. If you say that you are too busy to run, to take some deep breath or expand your chest every day would be better than do nothing.

My View on Study Abroad

Nowadays, study abroad has increasingly become a hot topic in campus with the improvement of the people’s life standard and the fast development of student exchange programs. However, there are some different views about going abroad to study.

Some people are in favor of the idea of going abroad to study. They point out the fact that it is a great opportunity for those who study abroad to be exposed to more new ideas and trends and broaden their horizons in a great degree. They also argue that those who study abroad can get more in touch with the foreign cultures and have a better surrounding to learn language well. In addition, they also consider that it is a better choice for those who depend on their parents too much to be independent.

On the contrary, other people stand on a different ground. They consider that it is harmful for the students who study abroad. They firmly point out that learning a foreign language and communicating smoothly with the local people is far from an easy thing at the outset for most students. What’s worse, it also takes time for students to adapt themselves to a new diet, custom, set of ideas and even the climate.

There are some truths in their arguments. As far as I am concerned, the advantages of studying abroad overweight the disadvantages, while it’s essential to take the condition of family as an important premise when deciding to go abroad to study.

Travel with Parents

Nowadays, with long holidays at hand, traveling has become a new trend for us to relax ourselves outside work. Some people even had made a plan for it a long time before the holiday begins. They usually travel with good friends or travel along; only few people take their parents into travel plan. However, I think it is high time for us to travel with parents.

In the first place, we should spend more time with parents. According to research, if we come home 5 days a year, spend 4 hours a day with parents, it would be less than 300 hours of 30 years, which means 25 days. We could see it now that there is not much time for us to spend with our parents after we go to work or have our own family. Hence, we should travel with our parents.

In the second place, parents used to took us to travel when we were young, why don’t we take them as return when we are capable to do that. It is not the matter of we are set free from parents, we are not a traitorous teenager anymore, and we have time and money, of course we should take a trip with parents. Holiday would be a good time for us to travel with parents, just like the old time.

To summarize, we should make a plan for parents in holiday. Holiday is a great gift for us and our parents.

My View On Constellation

When girls gossip about the couple, they always believe in the constellation, they treat it as an important standard to measure whether the couple will be suitable for each other. I don’t believe in constellation, I doubt it deeply, because people’s emotion can’t be decided by the constellation. 

The people who believe in the constellation think that their characters are described by it, when they read it, they find what the constellation says is completely conforming to their characters. As people so believe in it that they do as what the constellation suggests, such as what they should wear today and what kind of boyfriend they should choose.

I don’t believe in constellation, first, there are 12 constellations, which means there are 12 characters. We are told that there are no two same men in the world, which means every person has his own character, and then it is not conformed to the constellation. Second, if we read what every constellation says, we may find it describes the good and bad side of the character, people will naturally choose to believe the good side in their mind. So that’s why people think the constellation is right. 

We should believe in the science, constellation is just a funny thing, we should not judge people accord to it.

Traveling In Seattle

It was a fine day!  I went to several places of interest such as the pike market and the first starbucks store. Seattle has a reputation for heavy coffee consumption; coffee companies founded or based in Seattle include Starbucks, Seattle's Best Coffee, and Tully's. Seattle is the most populous city in the U.S state of Washington and the Northwestern United States. I was amazed by Seattle‘s  historical background and the industrious Seattle people who built the pike market. People are very friendly here. I was greeted by amiable people who were nice enough to tell me about the history of Seattle and by modest students who later practiced speaking Chinese with me. Seattle is the birthplace of rock legend Jimi Hendrix and grunge music, including Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Alice in Chains, and Soundgarden. Bruce Lee and Brandon Lee are also buried at Lakeview cemetery.Seattle has left me a wonderful impression.
